A Track Record and Two More Wins!!

Bristol, WI – July 15, 2013. Bill and the B2 Motorsport team had a double-header scheduled this past weekend on two totally different tracks. First up was Beaver Dam, WI’s “Horsepower Half-Mile” of the Dodge County Fairgrounds with the Interstate Racing Association for the annual Rick Schmidt Memorial. Bill would take the 17B sprinter out to the track first of the twenty-four cars on hand and lay down the fastest lap of the competitors which was also fast enough to break the single lap record that has been held by Travis Whitney since 2004 with a lap time of 16.211 seconds. Lining up 6th in the first heat race, Bill would immediately head to the top up the racetrack when the green flew and made his way into the 2nd position. After a few laps Bill would dive under the #7f of Lance Fassbender into the lead and cruise to his 6th heat race victory of the year. Bill would draw the #3 pill for the feature invert setting him up with a 6th place starting position in the feature. At the drop of the green Bill weaved his way into the 2nd position in pursuit of leader Phillip Mock. Bill quickly reeled in the white and red #1M and the two battled back and forth for several laps. After a few laps, Bill would take the 17B sprinter to the lead and set the cruise control clicking off laps at a torrid pace. The race was stopped once around midway for a wreck, but once back green the “Northpole Nightmare” set sail again to take the checkers with over an eight second lead over second place Mock and Scotty Neitzel to pick up his 8th victory of the 2013 season.

The hauler headed north overnight to Northern Wisconsin to the high-banked third mile of the Rice Lake Speedway in Rice Lake, WI. Bill would go out to qualify in the middle of the 20 cars on hand and lay down the 3rd fastest lap on the quickly fading red clay surface. Lining up 6th in the 3rd heat race, Bill would get caught up with Scotty Neitzel, spinning both drivers out on lap two of the heat race. When the green came back out Bill put the 17B to the top of the track and made his way into the 2nd position out of turn two as he now trailed leader Darrell Dodd. Bill sized Dodd up and made his way by two laps later and into the lead and take his 7th heat race win of the year. Quicktimer Travis Whitney drew the #3 pill for the feature invert lining the 17B sprinter up in the 4th starting position. The caution flag would fly before a lap got in, but on the restart Bill would settle in behind leader Tommy Sexton and Scotty Nietzel in the 3rd position, but racing was soon slowed for a spun car in turn four. When racing resumed Bill made his way under Neitzel into 2nd and now trailed Sexton. Bill soon reeled the leader in and slid under him in turns one and two. The two competitors raced side by side down the backstretch with Bill now on the high side of the track with the momentum and raced away with the lead out of turn four. Another caution flew soon afterwards with Bill just getting around a spinning machine near the top of the track in turns three and four. Once the green was out again the “Northpole Nightmare” set a torrid pace once again weaving through the traffic onto his 9th victory of the 2013 season and 2nd of the weekend over Travis Whitney and Scotty Neitzel.

This Saturday, July 20th, Bill will be in action at the Wilmot Raceway with a joint show with the All Star Circuit of Champions and the Interstate Racing Association. Bill picked up an IRA victory there just two weeks ago and ran 3rd at this race last year behind Dale Blaney and Tim Shaffer. The following weekend will be a double-header up north with the IRA as the group heads to the Langlade County Fairgrounds in Antigo, WI on Friday, July 26th and to the ABC Raceway in Ashland, WI on Saturday, July 27th.
